Karakuri boxes are based on the traditional "secret boxes" from the Hakone Odawara region of Japan. The boxes have a unique opening mechanism, invented from scratch by Karakuri's designers. Some are simple, while others require multiple steps involving pushing, shaking and turning. Each box is carefully carved and assembled by hand. The box has a cavity perfect for storing a small gift.
