Mid crimson with some development

despite being surprisingly youthful for a wine that is already ten years old

intense and pure flavors that are both delicious and explosive

This more obviously structured effort is almost delicate at present though I suspect that the mid-palate will further flesh out with bottle age

This is certainly a big wine

A mildly toasty nose is comprised by notes of dark pinot fruit that is liberally laced with humus, earth and the sauvage. There is once again excellent volume and richness to the velvet textured flavors thanks to the abundant dry extract, all wrapped in an intense, serious and overtly rustic finish. This very good if youthfully austere effort will definitely require at least some cellaring
